Cal Ripken

Randolph Recreation is now accepting registration for the 2021 Youth Baseball/Softball League for Randolph, Braintree, and Brookfield. This volunteer-run Youth Baseball/Softball program is an opportunity for 4 to 12 years olds to build self-esteem and have fun in a cooperative play environment. T-ball and Rookies will be run by the Recreation Department and will not be a part of the Cal Ripken League. Minor and Major Baseball/Softball will continue to be run by the Cal Ripken League. 

Fee: $35 - T-Ball/Rookie Baseball/Softball 
Fee: $45 - Minor / Major League Softball
Fee: $55 - Minor / Major League Baseball

Registration Deadline: Friday, April 2nd @ 5:00pm
*Note: Your registration will not be processed until payment is made. 

IMPORTANT DATES:
April 10th & 11th  - Field Clean up (Rec. Baseball/Softball fields)
April 17th & 18th  - Rain out Date for field clean up

Week of April 26th - Major/ Minors games begin
Week of May 3rd - Rookie and T-ball games begin


New Bat Regulation:  All bats used for baseball need to have a USA Baseball stamp, all other are illegal and cannot be used.

Youth Baseball/Softball Divisions:

T-Ball: (Co-Ed) - (Ages 4 - 5) - Rec. League
Season: May - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 40 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location - Rec. Fields (25 School St.)
Tentative Times:  Monday & Wednesday; 4:30pm or 5:30pm Practice time

Rookie: (Co-Ed) - (Ages 6 - 8) - Coach Pitch - Rec. League
Eligible: Must have played T-ball for at least one season. 

Season: May - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 45 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location - Baseball fields (30 Park St)
Tentative Times: Monday & Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00pm. 

Minor/Softball:  - Girls (Ages 9 -10) 
Important Note: Need a minimum of 10 players to form team. If not, we will a find a team to play with that is near by. 
Season: Late April - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 60 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location: Randolph Recreation Field 
Tentative Times: TBA
Note: Minor League Softball has parents pitch and catch and girl pitch. Girls learn the basics of game such as catching, throwing, batting, and pitching.



Major/Softball - Girls (Ages 10 - 12)
Important Note: Need a minimum of 10 players to form team. If not, we will a find a team to play with that is near by. Bethel is currently the only team with a Major Girls Team. 
Eligible: Must have played Minors for at least two seasons. 

Season: Late April - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 60 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location: Randolph Recreation Field 
Tentative Times: TBA

Minor: Boys - (Ages 8 - 11)
Eligible: Must have played Rookies for at least two seasons. 

Season: Late April - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 60 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location: Randolph Recreation Field 
Tentative Times: Tuesday & Thursday evenings starting at 6:00pm. Saturday starting at 10:00am. 

Major: Boys - (Ages 9 - 12)
** For 9 yr. olds
 to qualify for Baseball Majors level, he must have played in the Minor League for two years.

Season: Late April - mid-June
Practices: Each team practices once a week for about 60 minutes. Day-TBA
Games: Location: Randolph Recreation Field 
Tentative Times: Monday & Wednesday evenings starting at 6:00pm. Saturday starting at 10:00am. 

Rosters will be sent out a week before start date.
** Uniform shirts will be provided and will need to be returned. Players may keep the provided hat and socks.  Players will be responsible for pants, a glove and pair of cleats.  

Interested in Coaching?
We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteer coaches who are interested in teaching youth sports. Our program goal is to create a positive environment that promotes self-confidence and self-esteem through the experiences we provide. The program is dedicated to providing all youth with the highest quality of recreation and educational experiences for boys and girls ages 4 to 12 years-old (Pre-k - 6th grade). This is a great place to gain experience working with children, improve communication and people skills. High school and college students can volunteer to receive service learning for their school.
